Walter Brueggemann
Walter Brueggemann (1933 in Nebraska) ist ein US-amerikanischer Bibelgelehrter des alten Testaments und Schriftsteller.Leben
Geboren wurde Brueggemann in Nebraska, als Sohn eines protestantischen Pastors. Brueggemann erhielt den Bachelors Degree mit Hauptfach Soziologie vom Elmhurst College (1955) und einen weiteren, theologischen Bachelor Abschluss vom Eden Theological Seminary (1958); er promovierte in Theologie (Altes Testament) am Union_Theological_Seminary, New York (Th.D., 1961), sowie in Erziehungswissenschaften an der Saint Louis University (Ph.D., 1974). Er lebt in Georgia in den Vereinigten_Staaten. Er ist ein Pastor der United Church of Christ.
Brueggemann ist ein Verfechter und Vertreter des rhetorical criticism. Er hat mehr als 58 Bücher geschrieben, hunderte von Artikeln und verschiedene Kommentare zu Büchern der Bibel.
