Bobcatsss
BOBCATSSS ist ein internationaler Kongress mit Themen aus der Bibliotheks- und Informationswissenschaft, der jährlich unter der Schirmherrschaft von EUCLID (European Association for Library and Information Education and Research) von ost- und westeuropäischen Studenten gemeinsam organisiert wird.Der Name BOBCATSSS ist ein Akronym und steht für die Anfangsbuchstaben der Gründer-Städte, die das BOBCATSSS Symposium 1993 geschaffen und erstmals veranstaltet haben: Budapest, Oslo, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Tampere, Stuttgart, Szombately, Sheffield. Während der letzten Jahre haben sich weitere Städte dem BOBCATSSS Netzwerk angeschlossen: Borås, Riga, Kharkiv, Moscow, Tallinn, Torun, Warsaw, Sofia, Ljubljana, Krakow, Bratislava und Budapest.
Das inzwischen 16. BOBCATSSS-Symposium wird vom 28.-30. Januar 2008 unter dem Titel "Providing Access to Information for Everyone" in Zadar stattfinden. Die Organisatoren von BOBCATSSS 2008 sind Studierende der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, der Fachhochschule Potsdam, sowie der Universität Osijek und der Universität Zadar.
