Arthur John Cronquist
Arthur John Cronquist (19. März 1919 in San José (Kalifornien); ? 22. März 1992) war ein nordamerikanischer Botaniker.Cronquist war am Botanischen Garten der Bronx in New York City tätig. Bekannt ist er für seine Systematik der Bedecktsamer. Nach ihm sind die Pflanzengattungen Cronquistia und Cronquistianthus aus der Familie der Korbblütengewächse benannt. Seine Bücher über Pflanzenklassifikation gelten als seine Hauptwerke.
1986 wurde ihm die Linnean Medaille der Linnean Society of London verliehen.
Im Alter von 73 Jahren starb der Botaniker Arthur John Cronquist am 22. März 1992.
