Agathocles (Band)
Agathocles ist eine Grindcore-Band aus Belgien. Die Musiker bezeichnen ihren Stil als Mincecore, was soviel bedeutet wie [mince: zerhacken, durch den Fleischwolf drehen; to mince words: kein Blatt vor den Mund nehmen + -core] Zerhack-Grindcore. Außerdem sind Agathocles für ihre zahlreichen Veröffentlichungen bekannt. Sie gehören zu den Bands mit den meisten Veröffentlichungen überhaupt.
Geschichte
Die Band wurde 1985 gegründet und hat seit dem einige Besetzungswechsel hinter sich. Bisher hat es auch noch keinen langfristigen Plattenvertrag gegeben, so war die Band unter anderem beim deutschen Label Morbid Records unter Vertrag. Derzeit veröffentlicht die Band über Displeased Records. Agathocles sind nach Napalm Death zusammen mit Blood und Extreme Noise Terror die älteste noch aktive Grindcore-Band.
